KEVIN Kennedy has hinted he is returning to Coronation Street.

The actor – who played Curly Watts between 1983 and 2003 in the ITV soap – posted a picture of the Corrie studios in Salford sparking rumours he would be making a comeback from fans.

He wrote alongside the picture: “I wonder what goes on here?”

Fans flocked to tell him to make a return with one tweeting: “Watching the repeats in the mornings and Curly really is the most fantastic character, all thanks to you. Please pop back, Corrie really needs you, even if it is just for a quick visit

A second said: “It would be great if you came back for a visit to see your old friends.”

Another added: “A cameo, go on you know you want to…a walk on part maybe?”

He starred in the soap as Curly until being axed in 2003

He previously told Lorraine: “I would love to if that opportunity arises then brilliant.

“The irony of people leaving [Corrie] is to spend more time with their family but Id have to spend more time with mine If I went back Im always touring!”

Kevin shot to fame after first appearing on the soap in 1983.

The actor bid goodbye to the programme in 2003 before briefly reprised the role in 2010 in the spin-off movie Coronation Street: A Knights Tale.

Later Kevin confirmed he would not be making a Corrie comeback telling a friend: “No mate across the road at @BBCOne.”
