CORONATION Street legend Sally Dyvenor has just skated off with a new money-spinning deal in her back pocket.

The soap favourite, who plays Sally Webster, signed a contract to stay on Corrie for another 12 months just days before starting her stint on Dancing on Ice.

Sally has now racked up more than 3,500 episodes in the soap since joining – making her third in all the time list after fellow veterans Bill Roache and Helen Worth.

A source revealed: “The executives are over the moon to land Sally for another year – she’s got loads of exciting storylines coming up and is a real fan favourite.

“She’s one of Corrie’s greatest stars and it is excellent news she’s onboard again.
Corrie wouldn’t be the same without her.”

Sally is currently skating with Matt Evers on ITV’s Dancing On Ice.

She’s juggling playing Sally with rehearsing on the rink – and finally decided to do the show after years of turning it down.

“I like the idea of people getting to see me for who I am after all these years,” she says.

“I’m quite private and I’m not very good at putting my head above the parapet, so this for me is massive.

“That scares me a little bit because I’m very used to hiding behind a character and just being part of Coronation Street, but it will be nice for people to see me as me and not as my character.”

Sally made her debut in Coronation Street 1986 and had six-month break to recover from breast cancer which was diagnosed in 2009.

She is married to Emmerdale scriptwriter Tim Dynevor and they have three children including Phoebe, who is the star of Netflix series Bridgerton.

Dynevor was made an MBE for services to drama in the 2021 New Year Honours.

ITV representatives declined to comment.
