CORONATION Street’s Yasmeen Nazir will leave her granddaughter Alya horrified next week – when she tells her about how evil husband Geoff forced her to eat her pet chicken.
The chef – who is played by actress Shelley King in the ITV soap – is in prison charged with attempted murder after finally defending herself against Geoff’s relentless abuse.
Alya has suspected Geoff had been controlling her grandmother but had no idea of the extent of his evil actions.
Next week Yasmeen will finally realise Geoff’s hold over her and open up to Alya and reveal what he put her through.
But Alya isn’t prepared for discovering how Geoff murdered Yasmeen’s favourite chicken Charlotte Bronte and forced her into eating her.
Corrie fans were disgusted with Weatherfield’s police when they charged Yasmeen with attempted murder despite them suspecting his abuse after she attacked him in self-defence.
Following the attack, the police questioned Geoff about what led Yasmeen to bottle him – and it was revealed he had claimed to have suffered violence at the hands of a woman twice before.
But despite their suspicions the police did nothing but charge poor Yasmeen with attempted murder.
And things were looking pretty bleak for the poor chef when she was refused bail and left to rot in prison.
But fans know that Yasmeen’s granddaughter Alya spotted the signs of abuse early on and has been begging Yasmeen to speak out about Geoff’s awful behaviour for weeks.
As Yasmeen worries about how Geoff will react to her pleading not guilty, Alya is saddened by how strong his hold still is over her.
Meanwhile, Sally grows increasingly suspicious of Geoff and begs Tim to chuck his dad out.
What will Tim decide?
Later in the week, Alya is overjoyed when Yasmeen sticks to her guns and pleads not guilty.
But will anyone believe her?
