CORONATION Street favourite Lisa George was all smiles even while taking a series of painful tumbles during her first Dancing on Ice training session.

The Beth Tinker actress, famed for being a bolshy seamstress in Weatherfield, swapped her sewing machine for skates as she began to get in gear for the ITV reality series.

Coronation Street’s Lisa George was all smiles despite taking a tumble on the ice

Lisa, 49, has revealed she hasn’t skated for 40 years, and the lack of training may well have come through as she headed to the Cheshire rink today.

Lisa couldn’t be missed in a cute pink long-sleeved top, with a matching bow headband.

She wrapped up in a dark gilet and black skinny jeans, before pulling on her bright white ski boots.

The soap star was spotted training with a mystery male who chatted to her before encouraging her to take a skate.

They pointed out a series of divots in the ice before he held her hand as she took a twirl.

Her initial solo venture onto slippery ground went well, and Lisa confidently held her arms out to either side of her body as she glided around on one leg.

She struck a skater-style pout as she ventured around the rink, looking a real pro.

Yet disaster struck as she became unsteady with her weigh on her single limb, and she toppled over onto her bum.

She was seen sprawled on her side before she managed to roll over onto her tummy.

Ever seeing the cheery side of things, Lisa tackled the mishap with a huge grin.

Her teacher then skated over to her to help her up.

In September, it was announced that Lisa had signed up for the forthcoming edition of ITVs Dancing On Ice, alongside Love Islands Maura Higgins.

Speaking about the exciting opportunity, shetold Lorraine: “I did it for a couple of years until I was about nine.

“I was in a competition and I stuck my blades in the ice, the ice shot up like a shard and cut my chin open so that was the end of my skating career.

“I’m 49 this year so I haven’t been on the ice for 40 years.”

There is still no date confirmed forthe next series.

However, it is likely that the new series of the show will kick off around the same time as the previous two seasons, which have started on the first weekend of January.

If the trend continues, we could see Lisa will be showing off his skating skills on January 5, 2020.
