EASTENDERS fans were left devastated for Mick as he reduced his mum Shirley to tears with a vile rant as he struggles to process the abuse he suffered.

The bar manager nearly opened up to his mum about what had really happened when he was 12 at the hands of former social worker Katy, but lashed out instead.

Mick raged at his mum

Following Frankie’s swift departure from the Square, Mick has been trying to process the fact that he was abused and fathered a child at the age of 12.

Up until his daughter’s revelation that he was really abused and fathering a child at such a young age was not OK, Mick had been living in denial.

As he struggles to process his trauma, Tina reveals she’s found Katy on social media and they can message her to find out where Frankie is.

Remembering the social worker from when she and Mick were growing up, Tina excitedly tells him that they should all meet up.

Shirley broke down in tears

Mick storms out of the flat followed by Shirley, who thinks he’s upset with her for how she behaved when he was young and had to be looked after by Katy.

“Maybe we should meet up with her,” Shirley pleads to her son after catching up with him. “Then I could thank her.”

Mick’s face changes in an instant and he lashes out his mum saying he will never forgive her.

Viewers of the show were left devastated by Mick’s outburst.

The emotional moment moved viewers
Mick furiously ranted amid the child abuse storyline

One wrote: “Mick making Shirley feel bad. Why are you doing this Mick. She stood by you through the worst of times with Linda and her drinking. She has been a real mother figure to you when times have got tough and all you do is push her away. She dosnt deserve it.”

Another added: “That final scene broke me.. fantastic acting from Danny & Linda.”

While a third penned: “That was cruel of Mick.”

The BBC soap is exploring the after effects of the childhood abuse Mick went through at the hands of a care worker who was employed to help the family, but instead she sexually abused Mick.

With Frankie having told Tina who her mother is, the over-excited bar manager couldn’t wait to tell the rest of her family.

As she filled them in Linda and Tina reminisced as Frankie listened on and Mick looked sick.

But she couldn’t stop herself from winding Mick up about how he was in love with her before she left them when he was 12.
The truth hit Frankie like a truck and she became emotional, telling Mick: “You were 12. That’s not an affair – it’s disgusting.”
