EASTENDERS viewers were horrified tonight as out-of-control Linda Carter wound up in a seedy hotel with a man she met on New Year’s Eve.
Meanwhile, her loving husband Mick was at home asleep, after rescuing her from the club, helping her while she threw up and putting her to bed.
Alcoholic Linda was left battling the aggressive bloke after he took her back to the room at the bleak Welcome Sleep for sex.
After wolfing down a kebab, she was seen getting in a taxi with him before they both tumbled into his room.
The off-her-head landlady opened the mini-bar, telling him: “Right, let’s have a little drinky” – before being violently sick in the room’s toilet.
Sensibly deciding to make a break for it, she ran towards for the door but the man blocked her and ended up tangling with her.
But she eventually managed to get out, telling her vile attacker – probably a little late – “I’m married.”
Fans were horrified she came to close to cheating on Mick, tweeting: “WTF was Linda thinking going back to a total random’s Hotel room now seriously? Clearly she was way too outta it to know what she was bloody doing. She was beyond lucky to get away when she did, literally anything could of happened #Eastenders 
”
Another wrote: “That guy who tried to take Linda back to the hotel room when she was out of it needs to get his bollocks chopped off. F***ing disgusting predator #EastEnders”
The hotel scene was one of the bleakest moments in Linda’s descent into booze hell on tonight’s episode.
Linda’s trouble began in last night’s visit to Albert Square when she started downing shots at Karen Taylor’s New Year’s Eve party.
Tonight’s episode followed the character as she staggered from one disaster to another, at one point blacking out in the toilet as Mick hammered on the door.
Despite the best efforts to rescue her, she kept escaping and continuing her night of carnage, which involved pole-dancing, losing her shoes and swigging from bottles of wine and vodka.
However, it was finally revealed who the mysterious caller bombarding her phone was – with Martin Fowler looming out of the shadows in the dying moments of EastEnders.
She is thought to be involved in the ongoing mystery around what happened to Keanu Taylor, who was supposedly shot dead on Christmas Day.
She told Martin: “It’s killing me. I can’t do this any more.”
But he responded with unbridled fury, throwing her through a door saying menacingly: “Keep your moth shut. Understand?
“No one, no one can know. If you breathe a word about what we did, what happened at Christmas, then we’re dead. Both of us. We’re dead – do you understand?”
