EASTENDERS viewers found getting used to Peter Beales return was a tall order because the actor is 7ins bigger than his predecessor.
Newcomer Dayle Hudson towered over on-screen dad Ian, played by Adam Woodyatt, during his first scene on Tuesday.
The father and son were the same height when Peter left for New Zealand five years ago aged 21.
Ben Hardy, who played the character then, and Adam are both 5ft 8in but Dayle is 6ft 3in and the difference did not go unnoticed by fans.
Viewer Ally Ives tweeted: Peter hasnt just got a new face, hes grown about three feet.
