EastEnders fans stunned as they realise Shirley Carter actress Linda Henry played another character in the soap

DIE hard fans of EastEnders have today shared their shock after finding out that Shirley Carter actress Linda Carter once played another character in the soap.

That’s right, back in the 90s Linda briefly played the role of prostitute Lorraine Salter who was involved in a storyline with Frank and Pat Butcher.

These days the actress, 56, is known as the no-nonsense Queen Vic landlady.

She started playing Shirley in 2006 – but now it’s revealed she was also on the show in November 1991.

The shock came after an old episode was aired on the Drama Channel today, with fans then taking to Twitter to share their joy at this big revelation.

One fan said: “Young Shirley Carter on eastenders!”

Linda isn’t alone when it comes to having two roles on EastEnders.

Lorraine Stanley, who started playing Karen Taylor in 2017, had previously played Thelma Bragg just a year before on the show.

She was involved in a storyline that involved Frank and Pat Butcher

 

Before joining EastEnders full time in 2006, Linda was best known for playing Yvonne Atkins in the ITV drama Bad Girls.

She played the jailbird from 2001 and 2004.

Her character met a grisly end after being locked in an underground cell my her arch nemesis Fenner.
