BBC One fans are convinced that the identity of the driver will be exposed and Mick will be faced with the tough decision of choosing between his daughters.

Fans believe that Frankie’s deception could backfire on her and tear the Carter family apart, leaving Mick to stuck in the middle.

One viewer wrote: “Surly mick an Linda will cover for Frankie and zach over Nancy as Frankie is family when it was an accident zach shouldn’t have got Frankie to lie now this is all wish a mess poor Frankie is breaking my heart hope Nancy is ok #EastEnders.”

Another shared: “I really don’t want the Carter family to hate Frankie when the truth comes out #EastEnders“

A third added: “The Carter’s needed to show love to Frankie #EastEnders.”

In tonight’s episode, Frankie is persuaded by tipsy Zack to flea the scene of the crime in an attempt to cover their tracks.

Zack calls for an ambulance and says he’s found someone in the street unconscious and, when the police arrive, Zack repeats his story.

As Mick and Linda arrive at A&E, Zack battles a guilty conscience.

Frankie is distraught but Zack reminds her they could go to prison if the truth emerges.

The events leading up to Nancy’s horror accident started with Mick’s attempt to cheer a downbeat Frankie up by organising for Zack to take her out for a driving lesson.

Over at the gym, Linda gives her daughter some moral support and Nancy reveals she’s thinking about entering a weightlifting competition.

Nancy then heads out for a late night jog, while Frankie shows up at Zack’s for the driving lesson.

But the evening ends in disaster when, with Zack tipsy, Frankie struggles to drive in the dark and ends up hitting something.

Speaking about Frankie’s state of mind when she knocks her sister over, Rose said: “Pure panic and guilt – she can’t believe it!

Talking about Frankie’s dilemma after the hit and run, she added: “Telling the truth could risk her losing what she has with the Carter’s but her lying does the same thing – it’s a bigger risk if the truth ever does come out.

“So she’s completely torn and worried. She only listens to Zack because he knows what happened and he seems to be calm and controlled,” she continued.

“He takes charge of the situation to fix it so she goes along with it and does what Zack says, despite how she really feels.”
