WELL it’s not likely to be something we will ever see on EastEnders, but it has been revealed how June Brown and Natalie Cassidy once shared a naked hot tub session’ on holiday.
The pair have been friends for years thanks to their roles as Dot Cotton and Sonia Fowler in the BBC1 soap.
Tonight Natalie will recall their hilarious vacation story on EastEnders: Secrets From The Square (September 1).
Reminiscing about her time working with June she tells host Stacey Dooley: “We have had so many lovely evenings together.”
Despite the large age gap, the pair have often been on holiday together.
June, 93, and Natalie, 37, stripped off and jumped in a whirlpool bath during a trip abroad.
Natalie says: “We went to Malta once and we were naked in the hot tub together.
“We would go to nightclubs. She was very lively and still is.”
June quit the soap earlier this year after playing the legendary Dot Cotton for 35 years.
The actress told the Distinct Nostalgia podcast that she would not be returning to Albert Square.
Her final goodbye came as Dot moved to Ireland, with producers insisting the door was always open for the legendary star.
But June said in February that she had quit for good: “I don’t want a retainer for EastEnders, I’ve left for good.
“I’ve sent her off to Ireland and that’s where she’ll stay.”
The veteran actress has been a regular in Albert Square since just after the BBC1 soap began in 1985, apart from a break between 1993 and 1997.
She also took six months off in 2012 to pen her autobiography.
June said she had already mourned her character.
She revealed: “I was feeling down a few days ago. I thought, ‘What’s the matter? Why do I feel so sad?’ It’s almost as if I’ve been bereaved.”
June went on: “I’ve played two people simultaneously for 35 years. Really Dot wasn’t me, but spiritually she probably was.”
