EASTENDERS’ Lacey Turner has welcomed a new puppy called Ned after being left heartbroken by dog Dexter’s death last year.
The 31-year-old star’s beloved chocolate labrador passed away just weeks after she welcomed first child Dusty, who’d already developed a special relationship with the pooch.
And it appears Ned has already got Dusty’s seal of approval, with proud mum Lacey sharing a sweet video of the two playing together.
Posting to her Instagram Story, the actress shared clips of Ned settling into his new home – including one of him getting to know her litle girl.
In the brief scenes, Dusty has a dummy in her mouth and is being supported by a cushion as she sits up.
The little girl is dressed in a blue babygro and looks bemused as Neds affectionately licks her, with Lacey adding Dionne Warwick track What The World Needs Now to the video.
Lacey – who is currently on maternity leave from the BBC One soap – has also started an Instagram page for her new pet, linking fans to the account online.
The page description reads: “Im Ned, a Maltipoo, I am eight weeks old and have just joined my new family!
“Im loving life and would love you to follow my journey in this big wide world.”
Lacey’s EastEnders co-star Louisa Lytton is among Ned’s 378 followers.
In August, the star announced Dexter’s sad death with a selection of adorable photos of the pet with Dusty.
In the emotional caption, Lacey said that she was “heartbroken” to lose the “most loyal and kindest” dog after 11 years as she vowed to tell her daughter all about him.
The heartbreak was made even harder after her other dog, Reggie, died just months earlier – in April.
Lacey and her husband Matt Kay welcomed first child Dusty in July.
She married Matt in Ibiza in 2017 after they met as teenagers.
