EASTENDERS actor Lee MacDonald has popped the question to his long-term partner Jess.

The 51-year-old shared a sweet snap of the happy couple as he gushed about their upcoming nuptials.

Lee MacDonald shared the couple’s happy news on twitter

Lee played Zammo McGuire on gritty BBC series Grange Hill from 1982 to 1987 alongside Ant McParlin and Declan Donnelly.

His character became addicted to heroin — and led the cast to a top ten hit with anti-drugs charity single Just Say No.

His tweet to fans about his proposal saw him joke about his infamous catchphrase, as he said: “My partner Jess “JUST SAID YES”! Wedding next.”

Lee has been running a locksmiths and key-cutting business since retiring from telly.

But last year he made a surprise comeback 32 years after playing playing Zammo by joining EastEnders.
