EASTENDERS legend Dean Gaffney has been spotted out with his rarely-seen mum to celebrate her birthday with a posh afternoon tea.

The soap actor took to his Instagram to share sweet snaps from their outing to London’s The Dorchester hotel for an array of tea and cakes.

Dean, 43, who played Robert Fowler on the BBC One soap for a decade until his departure in 2003, could be seen cosying up with his rarely-seen mum.

He placed a gentle kiss on her head in one snap shared to his Instagram stories, which saw him looking smart and dressed in a black suit.

Another photo saw his mum – sporting a stylish pink hairstyle – raising up a glass of champagne as she sat at the table and smiled wide for the camera.

Dean followed up by giving fans a glimpse at the delicious treats they were being served, including a pink-glazed cake with the words ‘Happy Birthday’ iced on.

“Happy birthday mother dearest, love you,” the actor captioned one of the snaps, tagging his location at the five-star London hotel.

It comes days after Dean enjoyed a night out with one of his twin daughters – where he was left unimpressed when he had to foot the bill.

The doting dad treated Charlotte, 25, to a slap up meal and the pair posed for a moody selfie together in the swanky restaurant.

The EastEnders legend joked with his followers: “I’m moody because I’m getting the bill (as usual), not sure why you’re moody darling daughter.”

Dean – who is best known for playing Robbie Fowler on the BBC soap – is also dad to Chloe.

The twins’ mum is Sarah Burge, who he met when he was just 15.

They dated for 22 years, but split in June 2015 – not long after Dean addressed pictures which appeared to show him looking close to another woman.

The actor has remained very close to his daughters and was delighted when he recently became a grandad after Chloe welcomed a little girl called Mimi.

Speaking about his latest role as grandpa, he told HOAR:  “I’m so proud. Lots of my mates are becoming dads, but I’m a grandad at the same age.

“The only person I know who’s in the same boat as me is Danny Dyer, who has a grandchild at 43. I’ll be calling him for tips. We could do grandaddy day care together.’”

“I’m hoping people will see me pushing a pram in the street and go, ‘Oh, is that your child?’

“Because although I’ve got grey hair, I don’t think I look like a grandad just yet.”

Talking about the moment he found out Chloe was having a child, he said: “I’m very blessed that I have a great relationship with my daughters. We try to go out once a week. They both drink and we sometimes do shots.

“On one night Chloe just said, ‘I’m sticking to water — why do you think that is?’ And then I just knew.”
