EASTENDERS legends Andrew Lynford and Mark Homer have recreated their controversial kiss 26 years after it aired on the soap.

The actors – who played Tony Hills and Simon Raymond – reunited and posed for a social media snap earlier this week.

Andrew, 49, and Mark, also 49, left EastEnders fans overjoyed as they pretended to kiss – just like they had during the episode aired in 1996.

The controversial smooch, which was the first gay kiss to be seen on the soap, saw the pair finally admit their feelings.

Visiting Blackpool together, the bisexual characters could be seen sitting at the end of the pier before sharing a kiss.

The BBC scene received dozens of complaints from viewers at the time as it was shown before the 9pm watershed.

But many others noted the scene as “groundbreaking” and have long since called for the pair to return to Albert Squre.

Now, actors Andrew and Mark have come together to recreate the moment, more than 23 years after it was shown on TV.

The former soap stars posed for two snaps during their reunion, as they leant in and pretended to kiss each other.

“Got to see this wonderful man today,” Andrew captioned the snaps. “You love I luuuuurve you.”

Long-time fans of the soap flooded the comments to gush over the pair, calling the recreation “brilliant”.

“Brilliant! Both looking good,” one said, as another agreed: “You both look amazing… but Mark you will always be my first EastEnders crush.”

“So lovely to see you’re still friends,” a third gushed, as a fourth concluded: “You still got it the pair of you.”

It comes after EastEnders legend Pam St Clement made a rare appearance on social media as she celebrated 80th birthday.

The actress hasn’t been seen in public since her last television appearance two years ago.
