The 18-year-old actress told HOAR how she has turned to painting due to lockdown boredom, and hopes to raise some money for the charity in the process.

Maisie is doing her bit for the NHS

She told us: “I’ve been getting into painting because everyone is a bit bored at the minute.

“My dad came home recently and said he saw loads of rainbows in people’s windows for the NHS and I thought that was such a good idea.”

Maisie continued: “For people like my grandad, he can’t really go out and buy art supplies and things, so I’ve been painting canvases with rainbows and the NHS on them to give out to people.

“I thought if I could maybe raffle one of my hand-painted NHS rainbow canvases and personalising it by signing the back, all the proceeds can go to the NHS.”

Tickets for the raffle cost just £1, with all money raised going to NHS Charities Together.

The NHS is particularly close to Maisie’s heart as she has cousins working on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as raising money through her impressive painting skills, the star told us that she is helping vulnerable people at this time by doing their essential grocery shopping.

Maisie plays Tiffany in EastEnders

Maisie shot to fame when she landed the role of Tiffany Butcher in EastEnders at just seven years old.

Production on all British soaps was cancelled last month due to the ongoing health crisis, and the fan favourite has been updating her followers on how she is spending her time away from Walford on social media.

In addition to painting, Maisie has shared videos of herself singing, playing guitar, and even dancing with her parents.
