EASTENDERS star Scott Maslen stopped in a for a cheeky pint with some friends after returning to work on the beloved spot.

Hard to miss in a bright, yellow print shirt, Scott talked animatedly to his mate outside the Primose Hill pub.

The soap star, 49, topped off his look with black jeans and sneakers, with his sunglasses tucked into his shirt.

Scott has played Jack Branning on the BBC soap since 2007 and recently returned to work after coronavirus forced a break in filming.

EastEnders recommenced filming on June 29, more than three months after lockdown forced a pause in production.

Its fans were left hanging when the soap’s finale on June 16 ended with some whopping cliffhangers after being forced off air for the first time it its 35-year history due to the coronavirus.

It has been revealed that EastEnders will officially be back on Monday, September 7.

From then on, the soap will be airing four nights a week at the slightly shorter length of twenty minutes. 

The news will be a relief for viewers, who have been left hanging after the finale on Tuesday, June 16, ended on a huge cliffhanger. 

Speaking about the return of EastEnders, Executive Producer Jon Sen said: “From the moment we turned the lights out in The Queen Vic our ambition was to come back with a bang and this autumn certainly does that.

“As soon as Albert Square reawakens the drama returns at a pace and, although working within social distancing guidelines has certainly given us some new challenges, I am incredibly proud of what everyone has achieved. The show is looking fantastic and we can’t wait for ‘series two’ to begin…”

But for Scott, he will have to learn to honour the show’s icons, unlike when he first joined the soap.

Eastenders legend Pam St Clement got in a right two and eight when co-star Scott Maslen called her “Pat” on set.

She berated Scott, who plays Jack Branning in the BBC soap, for confusing her with her Albert Square character Pat Butcher.

Jake Wood, who plays Jack’s brother Max, said former Bill star Scott, 49, had just joined the show.

Jake said: “She really took offence and gave him a hard time for it.

“She’s a lovely lady but she wasn’t too happy. She looked at him and goes, ‘Don’t call me Pat!’”

He has been with DJ Estelle Rubio since 2000 and they married in 2008

Speaking on his Pound for Pound boxing podcast, he added: “Scott was s****ing himself.

“She talks really posh in real life.”

Privately educated Pam, 78, joined EastEnders in 1986.

A source said: “Scott apologised twice. He was mortified.”
