EASTENDERS fans are in shock after Kheerat Panesar beat Paul Coker’s killer Simon Atmore up – leaving Callum Highway facing prison.
Ben Mitchell had been left determined to get revenge when he discovered Simon had had his murder charge reduced to manslaughter and was released.
He planned to kill Simon – and enlisted Kheerat to help him.
However, Phil made Ben see sense – he offered to help Ben and Callum take revenge for Paul’s death.
But he warned him: “You need to do this then we do it but that ain’t proving anyhing to Paul and it won’t impress me neither.
“Because the life you’re living now if the life that scum never managed to stop you living.”
But after Ben opted not to deal with the man himself, he’d forgotten about Kheerat’s part of the plan.
And after luring Simon to the meeting point, Kheerat went alone – and took things into his own hands.
Later he visited Ben and revealed he’d taken care of it for him.
“How does that guy walk out of prison but my brother doesn’t?” said Kheerat.
“My dad can’t even get released for one day. You did what you could for Jags and I like paying my debts.
“He got what he deserved. You said you wanted him to know how it feels.”
But Callum was horrified and pointed out if Simon goes to the police then either Callum or Kheerat face prison.
And fans were horrified by the choice.

Earlier on in the episode, grieving Kheerat Panesar stormed out of his brother Jags’ funeral.
The Panesars recently received the awful news that Jags, who was serving a prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, had been killed.
