EASTENDERS’ dramatic new trailer has hinted that alcoholic Linda Carter will relapse in distressing scenes.

The character has been battling her addiction since last year, with February’s dramatic River Thames’ boat crash shocking her into trying to get sober.

Linda is tempted to drink in the new trailer

And while Linda appears to have been doing well in recent weeks, binning her secret stash of booze and attending support groups, she can be seen getting tempted once again in the new teaser.

The brief clip shows Linda’s husband Mick walking into the kitchen to find a bottle of alcohol on the table, shouting: “L, what are you doing?!”

The worried landlord can then be heard warning his wife: “I remember when we used to tell each other everything…”

The trailer ends with Linda cautiously smelling the alcohol on what is presumably the day of Denny Mitchell’s funeral as she is seen dressed all in black.

Will Linda give in to the temptation?

Mick is left concerned when he finds a bottle of booze

Earlier this month, HOAR Online revealed that Mick will quit as the Queen Vic landlord to try and help Linda kick the addiction for a good.

A source told us at the time: “With Linda struggling to quit booze it makes sense Mick moves the family out the pub.

“His decision will spark a bidding war between some of the residents who fancy taking on the biggest job in Walford.”

Linda, played by Kellie Bright, hit the booze to cope with the stress of being ostracised by parents at the school attended by youngest son Ollie, who has been diagnosed with autism.

Her addiction nearly cost Linda her life during last month’s boat crash when her ankle got trapped in the boat’s galley while she was desperately trying to reach a bottle of cooking wine.

With the kitchen slowly filling up with water, Mick was forced to deliberately break her leg to free her and save her from drowning.

Elsewhere in EastEnders‘ new trailer, Ben Mitchell finally declares his love for Callum Highway is shown.

The gangster – played by Max Bowden on the BBC One soap – is still reeling from his hearing loss but next week will confess his true feelings to the trainee police officer.
