EASTENDERS favourite Max Branning will propose to his younger girlfriend Ruby Allen after a customer at the E20 hits a nerve in an upcoming episode.

Lothario Max – played by Jake Wood – met his match in party-goer Ruby Allen earlier this year and hopes to prove a point after he is mistaken for her dad in an upcoming episode, but will his proposal go to plan?

Max will propose to Ruby after a stranger mistakes him for her dad in EastEnders

EastEnders viewers were shocked as sparks flew between Max and Ruby in July when he stepped in to help her with her work accounts and in record time whisked her off for a date.

The knight in shining armour then pursued a fling with the young businesswoman and things continued to heat up between the pair.

But EastEnders fans will also know that as their relationship grew more serious, Max – who is 21 years older – became exhausted as he tried to keep up with youthful Rubys partying.

And in an upcoming episode, Max will be humiliated again when a customer at the E20 mistakes him for Rubys dad.

An angry Max is later wound up further by his brother Jack Branning and Jean Slater, prompting the bad boy to feel he has to prove a point.

Desperate to show that his relationship with Ruby is written in the stars, he hatches a plan to pop the big question at the Squares restaurant and brother Jack encourages him to follow his heart.

But when enemy Ian Beale overhears the proposal plans, he is desperate to wind Max up and begins plotting ways to make sure that everyone will be there to see the action unfold.

By the time Max realises what Ian has been up to, its too late – and an unsettled Max is forced to propose while everyone watches.

The Sun Online reported in August that Max has had more success than a Love Island lad, and that Ruby is his 14th fling in the Square.

But will a stunned Ruby say yes to the bad boy or will she run for the hills?

EastEnders fans will have to tune in next week to find out.
