PHIL Mitchell has remained in prison for less than two months but could he soon be released?

Coming up in EastEnders, the tough man makes a shocking decision about DCI Keeble’s offer.

Sharon finds out Phil will be meeting with DCI Keeble
Could he reconsider her offer?

Once his involvement in Vincent Hubbard’s death was revealed, Phil – played by soap legend Steve McFadden – progressively realised he would have no other choice but to face the music.

Phil thus refused an offer made by DCI Samantha Keeble (Alison Newman) who suggested he could become an informant for the police if he chose to roam free.

As residents looking up to him have begun to spiral in Albert Square, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is relieved next week when Phil’s solicitor Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) confirms he’ll be meeting with Keeble to make a deal.

While at the prison, Phil does meet with Keeble – but will he really become an informant?

EastEnders viewers were hoping Phil would escape prison again by accepting Keeble’s offer to become an informant.

However, the Walford baddie knew this would mean his family would be in danger and refused to choose the easy option.

This was in spite of his relationship and engagement with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

Although he tried to break up with her to spare her from heartbreak, the pair couldn’t stay away from each other much longer.

But as he accepted his fate, Phil left Tommy Moon behind while the young boy desperately needed his help in order to get rid of persistent bullies.

The situation eventually escalated with Tommy getting in trouble and even attacking his own mother Kat, yet he wasn’t the only one who could have been better off with Phil around.

Phil’s son Ben is still trying to overcome trauma he was left with after seeing his husband Callum being beaten by members of Neil’s gang.

His violent streak is no secret but has once cost the life of another Albert Square resident and he has begun to act out once again – and Sharon has been worried for his psychological well-being.

Concerned, Sharon decided to tell Phil everything urging him to consider DCI Keeble’s offer.

While Phil initially refused, he eventually turned to Keeble, but could that be enough for him to want his freedom back?
