EASTENDERS star Maisie Smith has posted an emotional tribute to her dog Benny one week after he died.
Maisie, who plays Tiffany Baker in the BBC soap, shared some sweet throwbacks of herself cuddling her “beloved angel” on Instagram.
The photos showed the smiling teen hugging and kissing her Jack Russell while sitting in her garden.
She wrote alongside the snaps: “It’s been a whole week since my beautiful angel went to heaven
“Thank you all for your kind messages this dog has been so loved ”
The 18-year-old signed off: “RIP Benny Smith x.”
Maisie’s former EastEnders co-star James Forde was quick to offer consolation, writing: “Hope you and all the fam are well much love and miss you all!x.”
S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara also commented with a love heart emoji.
Maisie revealed the sad news that Benny had passed last week on TikTok.
She posted a series of video clips of Benny with the words: “Meet Benny. He was the bravest, the sleepiest, the kindest the goodest, the silliest, the handsomest big brother and best friend.
“This is your daily reminder to cuddle your pets.. RIP my angel. Benny Smith September 2007 – 1st June 2020.”
Maisie has appeared in EastEnders since she was a child, but now 18 and it’s claimed she’s being lined up for an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
According to bookies the redhead beauty stands a good chance of appearing on the show after impressing fans with her moves on TikTok.
The teen star has been delighting followers on the social media app during lockdown – and this could lead her all the way to the Strictly dance floor according to Ladbrokes.
The bookies make her just a 2/1 shot to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing – although its format is still up in the air due to the pandemic.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Strictly chiefs love getting soap stars on board and Maisie Smith may well be the next to take to the dance floor.”
Maisie won last year’s Strictly’s Children in Need special after impressing fans with her hidden dance talent and looks set to be back for more.
