EASTENDERS stars Danny Dyer and Danny Hatchard “got hammered” drinking real booze while filming the soap.

The Mick Carter actor, 42, took advantage of the real booze pump in the Queen Vic – according to his on-screen son Danny, 28, who plays Lee Carter.

Both Dannys got a bit drunk on set

They both filmed a scene where they needed to down a drink, but due to technical difficulties the scene needed to be repeated.

Hatchard told the Daily Star: “Behind the bar in the Vic, one of the pumps used to be a real pump. It used to let out real beer.

“We was filming a scene where me and him would down half a pint. But there was quite a few technical difficulties going on, so me and him were downing seven or eight or nine half pints.

“By the end we was f**king hammered.

Danny Hatchard admitted to drinking the real beer

“And then we had a full day’s worth of filming to film. Luckily, we were able to sober ourselves up, but it was a rookie mistake.”

Danny Dyer was forced to re-evaluate his behaviour in 2017 after a boozy meltdown at the National TV Awards.

He took six weeks off from filming EastEnders, where he stayed at a retreat in South Africa.

At the time he said: “You’ve got to take your job seriously and all that. You’ve got to keep your eye on the ball. Sometimes it’s easy to take your eye off it.”

Linda and Mick have sold the Queen Vic

Danny’s character Mick Carter recently made the difficult decision to sell the Queen Vic in order to help his wife Linda’s battle with alcoholism.

Ian Beale ended up buying it behind Phil Mitchell’s back – and putting Sharon Watts behind the bar as landlady.
