EASTENDERS’ Tina Carter caught coronavirus in lockdown – forcing her to reevaluate her life, revealed actress Luisa Bradshaw-White.

Luisa shared what her Walford alter-ego had been up to during tonight’s episode of Secrets From The Square, which also featured Linda Henry who plays her onscreen sister Shirley.

Luisa revealed all on her character’s fate

Speaking to host Stacey Dooley, Luisa explained that when EastEnders returns to our screens next month fans will discover that Tina fell ill with the deadly disease.

She shared: “Tina got coronavirus and was living with Ash and Iqra.

“Tina comes out really wanting a relationship and love, so we start really from there with Tina.”

Meanwhile, Shirley is set for an emotional time as Linda teased an “exciting” storyline for her character.

She shared: “The past comes back to bite Shirley on the bum.”

Luisa added: “It’s a really exciting storyline, she [Linda] cried!”

Addressing her co-star directly she continued: “Because you do cry.

“She gets really emotional.”

Shirley will have a surprise from her past

And fans were shocked to see just how emotional Linda really is – making her world’s apart from her hardfaced character.

The star broke down in tears at the beginning of tonight’s special as she reflected on missing her grandson in lockdown.

She also repeatedly choked up throughout the interview with Stacey, and viewers flocked to Twitter to share their reaction to the sensitive actress.

Fans were shocked by how different Linda is to her character Shirley

One tweeted: “Obsessed with how Linda is basically the opposite of Shirley”.

One more agreed: “Linda Henry is the absolute opposite of Shirley and I adore it.”

A third wrote: “The fact that Linda Henry is this sweet and sensitive is making 2020 ok”.

EastEnders will return to our screens in September after being forced off air earlier this summer after the BBC One soap ran out of pre-recorded episodes during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
