EASTENDERS fans were left in hysterics last night after Phil Mitchell confessed to murdering Keanu right in front of his taxi driver.

The Walford hardman – who is played by actor Steve McFadden in the BBC soap – left Albert Square last night in a cab with ex Lisa and daughter Louise.

EastEnders fans are in shock after Phil Mitchell took the blame for murdering Keanu Taylor before fleeing abroad to Portugal

But before he left he told his son Ben to tell people he was the one who killed Keanu – and he did it right in front of their cabbie.

Ben was originally going to join them so the father and son could avoid murder charges for Keanu’s ‘death’ but he pulled out at the last minute.

The thought of leaving Callum and daughter Lexi was too much and in a shock move Phil gave him his blessing to stay and told him to keep his freedom by telling the police he killed Keanu.

Phil then told Ben: “When the old bill come for you which they will, I want you to tell them it was all me.

But Ben had a change of heart as he got into the cab to head to the airport

“You put your life on the line for me and you stepped up and I’m grateful. And I’m proud. I’m proud you’re my boy. You deserve to be happy so just remember it was all me.”

This shock confession in front of the taxi driver had viewers in hysterics.

fans couldn’t believe how ridiculous it was of Phil to talk about such a serious crime in front of the cabbie.

One said: “Phil Mitchell to Cabbie. “Driver, you heard the woman, drive on”. Er… he also just just heard you confess to murder, Phil. #EastEnders”

While this one commented: “Sat there discussing the murder in front of the cab driver #EastEnders

Another said: “And now the cab driver is number one prime witness #EastEnders.”

Phil left with Louise and Lisa

Meanwhile the episode was the final exit for Louise and Lisa.

Actresses Tilly Keeper and Lucy Benjamin have now left the soap following last night’s episode.

However HOAR Online can confirm that Phil will be back in time for the 35th anniversary episodes.
