EMMERDALE fans are in tears after Aaron Dingle left the village for good.

The mechanic – who is played by actor Danny Miller in the ITV soap – decided he needed to flee the village, abandoning his sister Liv Flaherty, to escape his emotional torment.

Aaron has left Emmerdale village for good

Viewers know Liv is being charged with Aaron’s boyfriend Ben Tucker’s murder – though they know Meena Jutla really carried out the crime.

At the court Aaron went to see Liv in a side room – but she insisted she still has no memory of what happened.

It was the final straw for Aaron who decided to leave her to her fate.

“I can’t do this anymore Liv,” he told her.

He added: “I’m tired Liv and it’s not just Ben – it’s everything.

“I’ve had enough. I can’t keep doing this. I tried so hard to be there for you but all you did was push me further and further away.

“I don’t know what I can do for you. I don’t even know if you killed Ben or not.

“Surely that’s a wake up call for us. I don’t see a way to come back from this.”

Later as Aaron was packing up his car Cain arrived – and surprisingly gave his blessing.

But when Chas overheard she confronted Aaron about leaving.

He told her he needed to leave to be able to cope with his guilt over Ben’s murder.

“I have to do this because the truth is I’m scared of what will happen if I don’t,” he said.

With that Chas hugged her son and said goodbye before breaking down in tears herself.

He drove off to an instrumental version of Take on Me playing and it left viewers in tears.

One wrote: “13 years of Aaron Dingle is coming to an end. Wow I can’t believe it’s been that long.”

A second said: “Aww I will miss Aaron.”
