Emmerdale fans break down in tears as Marlon Dingle makes devastating decision after stroke

EMMERDALE fans are all cried out after an emotional week of episodes saw Marlon Dingle ban all visitors after his stroke.

The chef – who is played by actor Mark Charnock in the ITV soap – felt humiliated after partner Rhona burst into tears watching him be spoon fed in tonight’s episode.

Rhona was overcome with emotion as the nurse fed Marlon – by hand, spooning the special food into his mouth.

As he struggled to eat, Rhona couldn’t bear to watch and fled the room in tears.

It was humiliating for Marlon – and later when she returned as the nurse was finishing her assessment, Marlon had made a decision.

But as the nurse left, Rhona opened up to Marlon.

“Listen, about before, I’m so sorry,” she said.

“I never meant to embarrass you. I have no idea how difficult this must be for you.”

But as she spoke Marlon flipped over his notebook where he had written the words “no visitors, go home”.

Devastated, Rhona said: “Marlon, this is me, this is us. I’m sorry that I upset you. I never meant to. And no matter what happens, it will not affect how much I love you. Please don’t push me away.”

But he wanted her gone and she was forced to leave.

Running out of the room devastated, Rhona couldn’t look back as Marlon immediately regretted his decision.

He sobbed in his hospital bed – and he wasn’t the only one.

Viewers were completely rung out with the emotional week of episodes.

One wrote: “Oh that was so hard to watch #marlon #emmerdale.”

A second said: “That last scene of Marlon crying alone in his bed, damn that’s heartbreaking #emmerdale.”
