Viewers know that as a teenager Lydia suffered a devastating loss when her baby was born unable to survive.

After he died she was forced to bury him herself so the children’s home wouldn’t find out she had been pregnant.

Traumatised by the event, she ran away and took a new name and began a new life, only having her past come back to haunt her when the baby’s body was found.

And in tonight’s episode she was left devastated when Jamie used it against her to publicly humiliate her.

When Lydia came across Jamie rowing with his ex over their daughter Millie, she tried to help but ended up backing Andrea up as she told him Millie was scared of him.

“And who could blame her,” Lydia said.

Jamie hit back: “All this from the woman who buried her baby in a hole in the dirt.”

Lydia tried to hide her upset but she was deeply hurt and later vented to husband Sam about it.

Viewers sickened by Jamie’s insult.

One wrote: “Jamie is absolutely vile. Please get rid. Now. Disgusting.”

A second said: “Jamie that was uncalled for poor lydia.”

Another added: “Jamie picking on people who wont fight back.”
