Maya was sentenced to a year behind bars in Emmerdale – but will now be released after only five months

Emmerdale fans have been left disgusted after watching Maya abuse her boyfriend David Metcalfes son over the past year.

Sickening scenes showing Maya manipulate the schoolboy into a sexual relationship came to a dramatic head as she seduced the teen in a hotel on his birthday.

“Happy Birthday,” she told the vulnerable teen before pouncing on him on the hotel bed.

However, it looked like things were finally over for Maya after she was reported by David and whisked away by the police.

But David faced a blow when the paedophile teacher was given a shorter sentence than expected after denying having slept with Jacob.

Her abuse charges were reduced down to sexual contact with a minor, and the manipulative teacher was sentenced to just a year behind bars.

And things are set to worsen in scenes not yet aired as – to the horror of David – Maya will be released from prison after just five months.

Emmerdale viewers have watched a traumatised Jacob struggle with his feelings in the aftermath of Mayas abuse, which has affected his ability to have relationships with other women.

Fans know that Jacob accused ex-step mum Priya Sharma of coming on to him, and has struggled with attention from Mayas ex-step daughter Leanna.

Viewers recently saw Jacob recoil in horror as Leanna tried to kiss him at the Halloween party, and things are set to heat up further between the pair.

But things might be looking up for Jacob in coming episodes of the ITV soap.

In scenes not yet aired, Jacob will be hopeful as his father David begins to make plans for him to see a counsellor.

Will therapy finally help Jacob move on from his abuse at the hands of the evil teacher and make a go of things with Leanna?

Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out.
