EMMERDALE’S Lydia Hart will be devastated to be given a potentially fatal diagnosis by her mum Agatha who she believed was dead in an upcoming episode.
The character, played by Karen Blick, will be stunned to find that her mother is actually alive as she tells her shes at risk of Huntingtons disease after her father died of the same thing.
Lydia hasnt had the easiest time in Emmerdale with Mandy Dingle attempting to scam her out of inheritance money by pretending to be her.
Lydia also recently admitted she was Jenny Finn and had been hiding her real identity after giving birth to a stillborn son when she was a teenager.
She handed herself into the police earlier this year after the bones of the stillborn baby were unearthed.
Meanwhile, Mandy has discovered that Lydias mystery benefactor is none other than her estranged mum Agatha Finn.
Arriving at her mums address last week, Lydia was met with her long-lost sister Beth but her sibling was cold towards her and lied to her that Agatha had died three weeks previously.
In an upcoming episode, Mandy cant resist meddling further and barges into Beths home demanding an explanation for her hostility towards Lydia.
But Mandy is stunned to find Lydias mum Agatha, who Lydia believed was dead.
Agatha urges Mandy to take her to see Lydia, but Mandy is worried her meddling has gone too far.
In the upcoming scenes, Lydia will be stunned to see that Agatha is actually alive.
She will also be shocked to learn that her father died of Huntingtons disease, leaving Lydia with a likely chance of testing positive for the gene.
A stunned Lydia later tells her devastating news to partner Samson Dingle along with Mandy and Vinny Dingle.
The episode will see Agatha try to make up for lost time with Lydia but continue to upset her as she keeps calling her Jenny.
Viewers will then see a distraught Lydia agonise over whether to take the Huntingtons test – but what will she decide?
Emmerdale fans will have to tune in next week to find out.
