But can she push him to do the right thing and plead guilty?

Living in the Dales is already enough of a challenge but when children are concerned, some villagers have to be doubly firm to make sure nothing gets out of hand.

Such is the case of Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) who recently reported her son Noah (Jack Downham) to the authorities, forcing him to face the consequences of his actions.

As ITV viewers know, the Woolpack landlady caught the lad trying to hold Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) hostage in their home after developing an unhealthy obsession with her and stalking her for weeks.

In scenes due to air next week, Noah is informed by his solicitor that his defence plea hearing will take place the following day.

A reluctant Noah simmers with resentment but holds his counsel, leaving his mother incredulous when he tells he doesn’t want to plead guilty.

Later on, Kerry Wyatt’s daughter Amy scowls at Noah as he passes her and the two share an exchange.

Noah is considerably rattled by his conversation with her as it’s seemingly convinced him he needs to do a runner and skip his hearing altogether.

Unfortunately for him, an uncompromising Charity refuses to go along with his plan, prompting him to frustratingly head out.

But while she’s certain Noah needs to own up to his actions the way any other 18-year-old adult should, she remains concerned for her son.

Sarah Sugden eventually finds him sitting alone and talks some sense into him about attending his court hearing.

Although Noah takes her words on board, he is still unsure whether he will be pleading guilty or not.

Charity’s fears grow and, later in court, the legal advisor reads out Noah’s charges.

But how will Noah plead?

The youngster’s choice could change his entire trajectory as his recent behaviour has raised concerns among residents of the eponymous village and viewers alike.

Noah was shown trying to take advantage of Amelia Spencer before shifting his attention back to former flame Chloe Harris.

When he has convinced he had changed for the better, Chloe found harrowing proof on his laptop that he had actually kept a close eye on her without her consent.

Noah had gone as far as to steal her phone, her keys and breaking into her home.

Things came to a head when he was confronted with his behaviour and Noah lost his cool.
