To help him keep calm, Paddy drove him round the Dales with baby Eve – but this didn’t go to plan.

Soon he complained about chest pains, before clutching his chest and saying he felt hot.

Paddy tried to help but soon realised Marlon could be having a heart attack.

Marlon said: “I really don’t feel well. I ache over. I keep going hot and cold. Like I can’t catch my breathe.”

Paddy took him for a drive to calm him down

The scenes were filmed way before the coronavirus pandemic – and it is most definitely a heart attack – but fans started to panic he was going down with the virus.

One person said: “Thought Marlon had the coronavirus for a minute.”

A second said: “Looks like Marlon might have Coronavirus.”

A third added: “Do we reckon marlon’s got #coronavirus lol #emmerdale”

Both Emmerdale and fellow ITV soap Coronation Street will be reducing the amount of episodes aired each week.

Coronation Street will be dropping three episodes per week – all of its 8.30pm episodes have been axed – while Emmerdale will be losing one.

Emmerdale will now air weeknights at 7pm while Corrie will follow at 7.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

The change will allow the soaps to stay on air until July – even if production has to be shut down.

Paddy eventually told him he was having a heart attack

A statement released today read: “The continued transmission of both soaps is a priority to all of us at ITV and to our audiences who enjoy the shows. Whilst carefully adhering to the latest health advice from the Government and Public Health England, our production teams are continuing to film episodes in Manchester and Leeds.

“With this change of transmission pattern it will ensure we have great new soap episodes coming to air every weekday night until at least the early summer.

“With effect from Monday 30 March Coronation Street and Emmerdale’s scheduling pattern will be changing due to the coronavirus pandemic. Emmerdale will air Monday to Friday at 7pm and Coronation Street Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm.”

It had already been announced that the soap’s over 70 cast were to be written out of future scenes while the pandemic continues.
