EMMERDALE’S Danny Miller has revealed he’s engaged to girlfriend Steph Jones and the couple are expecting a baby.
The couple, who met in primary school, have been together for two years and have had a memorable start to 2021.
Announcing the happy news in an interview with OK!, Danny said: “It’s been amazing. We’ve had a lot of time to process it so it’s finally sunk in now.”
They had been trying for a baby for a year and were about to start IVF treatment when Steph discovered she was pregnant.
She said: “It was a massive surprise because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF. It was meant to be. We got engaged at the beginning of January and found out we were expecting in February.”
Danny, who plays Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, revealed he was filming the soap’s huge barn explosion storyline when he was told the news.
He said: “When I saw how many times she had rang me I had a feeling. I thought, either she’s pregnant or something serious is going on.”
The actor popped the question on a romantic holiday in St Lucia in January.
Steph booked the trip for his 30th birthday, and it ended up being a double celebration.
Danny got down on one knee during a candlelit beach dinner on the penultimate day of the trip.
Turning his attention to the big day, Danny said he was keen to invite former co-stars Kelvin Fletcher and Ryan and Adam Thomas.
