FORMER Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn is a world of pain after getting severely sunburnt during Britain’s latest heatwave.
Katie, 25, shared the painful pics on her Instagram stories which showed her shoulders and pink pink from the overexposure to the sun.
The actress saw the humour in the incident which left her with distinct tan lines where her top’s straps had been.
She hilariously compared herself to a popular sweet, writing: “Drumstick squashie anyone. Oops.”
Katie adorned the Insta story with emoticons of a large tomato and two love heart shaped lollipops with the word ‘love’ written on them.
Clearly a big fan of the outdoors, Katie recently stunned her fans with a throwback pic showing off her toned body from a trip to Mexico wearing a sheer gold and cream jumpsuit to her Instagram stories.
Wearing her blond hair in a stylish half-up, half-down ponytail, the actress posed smiling on a balcony wearing big gold drop hoop earrings.
Katie captioned the throwback pic: “Never been to LA but one of my favourite places is this spot in Mexico.”
Clearly her past sunny holidays have been on Katie’s mind after posting a different holiday post earlier that week.
Sitting with her back to the camera in high slit pink and black swimsuit on boat looking out to sea, Katie mused about the beauty of nature.
She has also been reminiscing while recovering from her sunburn and posting a load of pics from a music festival she attended exactly one year ago.
The photos showed her sitting on the grass with he friends drinking cider and rocking a vintage Nirvana t-shirt.
Katie captioned the pics: “What I’d give to be stood in a field with a bunch of strangers drinking overpriced beer right now…

Katie admitted feeling dowdy during her last few weeks on Corrie.
Katie joined the ITV soap seven years ago and recently opened up about what might be next for her career-wise.
Speaking about her next steps, the 26-year-old actress said: “I would try my luck in L.A.
“I’ve had some weird and wonderful meetings. All dependent on timing. I am going to LA to chase my dreams. If it doesn’t happen it doesn’t matter.”
“It is nerve-wracking but it’s exciting,” she added.
She admitted losing one stone after leaving the show
“I don’t like not knowing. I would love to play that kind of sassy or evil role, someone like Harley Quinn.”
The 26-year-old shed a whopping one stone after her exit from the soap, admitting she had been left feeling “dowdy and frumpy” during her latter weeks on the ITV soap.
Katie confessed she felt “very down” about her appearance, with her hectic schedule and late working hours not lending themselves well to training and healthy eating.
