Ex-Coronation Street star Wendi Peters teases return to soap as Cilla Battersby-Brown

EX-CORRIE actress Wendi Peters has teased a return to the cobbles.

She last appeared on the ITV soap in 2014 as Cilla Battersby-Brown.

Wendi Peters teased that she could be making a return to Coronation Street

The actress, who starred as Cilla Battersby-Brown, last appeared on the soap in 2014

Since then her on-screen son Chesney has had four children.

Wendi, who joined in with the Guide Dogs’ virtual tea party, said: “If a lovely story-line came up and I popped back in for a little while, it’d be nice.

“But I’m so busy work-wise.

“It would be quite fun now they’ve got quadruplets to have the mother from hell to look after them.”

It was revealed earlier this week that Coronation Street could go off air for the first time its 60-year history because bosses are running out of pre-recorded episodes.

ITV chiefs have already slashed the number broadcast due to coronavirus.

Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, said: “We’ve got until July in the can, so we need to get back mid-June otherwise it’s going to go off air.”
