They now have a daughter together

The couple are currently living apart, as restrictions on Strictly’s participants means the couples have to be isolated.

Commenting on their sweet exchange, one fan wrote: “@gorka_marquez may I just say that I want to thank you, your family and in fact all the dancers and their families for making such an enormous sacrifice to not be with each other in order to give us the public the joy we need to get through this time.

“It made me cry last Saturday because I was so happy to see dancing. I hope you know it does not go unnoticed! Thank you SO MUCH, on behalf of all of us!”

Meanwhile, Gemma also wished Strictly pro Aljaž Škorjanec and his celebrity partner, Radio DJ Clara Amfo, good luck ahead of the first live show.

Gemma was partnered with Aljaž when she took part in the BBC One dancing competition.
