HOLLYOAKS fans are convinced Toby and Celeste are guilty of murder and killed Dr Ley in a house fire as revenge for his sick experiments.

Viewers were left shocked as Toby, played by actor Bobby Gordon, revealed to his mother how he’d suffered at the hands of the man who adopted them.

Fans believe Toby and Celeste killed Dr Ley in a house fire

The two triplets Toby and Celeste, played by actors Bobby Gordon and Andrea Ali, have been behind a long time scheme to get back at their birth mother Martine Devereaux, after she gave them up for adoption but kept their brother Mitchell.

In an emotional scene last night, Toby told how he and her sister Celeste had been part of a shocking experiment by the doctor.

He recounted a story about a boy who was experimented on by being locked up and denied all emotional support and connection, while his sister was raised in the perfect family – before dropping the bombshell that he was talking about himself.

The fan theory comes after Toby revealed to his birth mother that they were experimented on

He told Martine: “We were an experiment for some twisted book – The Red Door. My sister was taken care of, cared for, loved, I was the lab rat.

“We communicated like this – tap tap tap – we knew we weren’t meant to be together so we developed it. Necessity is the mother of invention.”

One fan asked on social media: “So they killed dr ley ?”

While another elaborated on the theory and added: “So did Toby & Celeste actually kill Dr.Ley & then set the fire to cover their tracks so they could escape? #Hollyoaks.”

Viewers have been gripped by the triplets storyline

Viewers are currently gripped by the triplets storyline which also saw Toby tell Martine, played by Kelle Bryan, that the daughter she never knew was dead.

Later Martine discovers that Celeste is in fact her daughter – and promptly slaps her.

“I am SO gripped by this Toby/Celeste/Mitchell storyline that I’d happily watch it unfold as a six-part TV drama. Proper hour-long episodes. #Hollyoaks,” gushed one Hollyoaks viewer.

A second said: “This is getting more and more intense,” while another added: “OMG this storyline is so good.”
