HOLLYOAKS fans are convinced Grace Black shot Mercedes McQueen as she sleeps with her husband Sylver McQueen again.
Viewers were left shocked when the pub owner, played by Jennifer Metcalfe, was shot and left for dead in the nightclub earlier this week.
It was believed that the scheming character was ambushed by one of her seven enemies in the E4 instalment, James Nightingale, Breda McQueen, Sylver McQueen, Liam Donovan, Joel Dexter and Diane Hutchinson all suspects.
But Grace Black has an alibi – she was sleeping with Sylver McQueen when she was shot.
Then in tonight’s episode, Grace helps Sylver smuggle a gun out of his flat – planted there by Mercedes’ lover Liam Donovan – when the police came to search it.
She gave it back to Liam, and the police received another tip off he had a gun
However, the alibi is a bit too perfect and the couple a bit too suspicious, leading many fans to suspect this was all Grace’s doing.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Now I’m edging towards Grace being the one to take out Mercedes whilst she danced to the worst version of Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy. Why didn’t you give the ‘gig’ to Massive Attack..?”
Another added: “F*** you Liam. Still think it was Grace though! #Hollyoaks”
A third said: “My money is on Grace or Bobby. #Hollyoaks #WhoShotMercedes”
The attempted murder came after Mercedes confronted all of her enemies and gave them what for after they tried to scam her by stealing drinks from her pub.
She terrified James by walking towards him and pulling her phone out like a gun, before telling him how Harry only wanted him for his money and then turning to Grace and warning her about her own murders.
Joel was next with her ripping into him about his knowing her secrets and his secret meeting with Cleo, while Goldie got a mouthful for being a “market knockoff”.
Diane was called out for her behaviour towards Harry before he died, and her evil rapist son Finn being welcomed back into the village.
She ran into Liam first and when he rejected her she told him how she had had a termination of his baby.
