The actress – who plays troubled mum Donna-Marie Quinn on the Channel 4 soap – looked miles apart from her on-screen character.

She usually rocks mousy brown tresses, but recently ditched her trademark mousy brown lock for a beachy-blonde shade.

Lucy Jo, 38, gave fans a glimpse of her eye-catching hair makeover on social media, which sent fans wild.

One wrote: “Absolutely beautiful…loving the new hair colour.”

Another shared: “Looking gorgeous Lucy jo ???.”

“Beautiful ??. Stunning hair,” a third posed.

She also raved about some semi-permanent makeup she had applied to her eyebrows and lips.

Lucy-Jo returned to playing Donna Marie Quinn on the Channel 4 soap in May but it came after a tough year as she and her partner Lewis Devine both battled Covid earlier this year.

The new parents were left bedridden by the virus, but it got so bad for Lewis he started coughing up blood.

A frightened Lucy-Jo called the ambulance to check on her boyfriend.

“We did get the ambulance out at that point,” she told OK! magazine, and added, “but they told us he was OK and it wasn’t severe.”

Lewis also revealed he “had it for about two weeks and then I spent a week recovering from it”.

‘SO TOUGH’

Getting better took longer for the couple who were also looking after their newborn son, Carter.

They welcomed their first child together in February last year, as the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

“I think it took longer for us to get over it because we had Carter. Our families desperately wanted to help, but they couldn’t,” Lucy-Jo explained.

“Family, friends and neighbours would drop off Lucozade and food and milk, but it was so tough.

“You have this new baby who wants to be cuddled and fed and you’re up at night with them while feeling awful.”

Lucy-Jo is also mum to Sienna, six, with her Coronation Street ex Alan Halsall.

She starred as Kathy Harris on the cobbles from 2002 to 2005 and went on to marry Alan in 2009.

They first split in 2016 before reuniting and then confirmed their break-up in 2018.

Lucy-Jo has returned to Hollyoaks after taking a break, with a trailer for the Chester soap last month revealed her character’s explosive return, surprising her daughter Juliet Nightingale.

Donna-Marie was set to leave the village with her daughter in January 2020, after being released from prison, but she fell back into old habits when she had a drug overdose.

She’s now back and desperate to prove to her children that she’s changed, but can she be trusted.
