HOLLYOAKS six shooting suspects have laid out their motives for trying to kill Mercedes McQueen next week and anyone could have done it.
The Sun Online revealed that the Hollyoaks legend will be shot by a mystery attacker next week and now the actors involved in the storyline have outlined exactly why their characters want her dead.
In the frame for the attack are her husband Sylver, resident serial killer Breda McQueen, lover Liam Donavan, hit and run victim Grace, Harrys ex James, former friend Diane and priest Joel.
And Mercedes actress Jennifer Metcalfe has confirmed that she wont die and in fact be in a coma for three weeks she admits there are a lot of people whod be glad to see the back of Mercedes.
The reason why people might want Mercedes dead is because shes done a lot of wrong things to a lot of people, she says.
I absolutely loved filming it, it was like a six-page scene where I literally attacked everyone in there, so theres loads of reasons why people want a shot and pretty much everyones got a good reason why they want to shoot her!
So lets look at the suspects and why theyd want to pull a gun on her
SYLVER
Why does he want to shoot Mercedes?
Actor David Tag: Sylvers motivation could be a number of things: firstly, Mercedes has been having an affair with Liam behind Sylvers back; she aborted a baby that could have potentially been his; there was the car crash where Mercedes ran over Grace and unknowingly left her for dead. Sylver has become quite close to Grace recently and Mercedes could have killed her or paralysed her. So theres a few things that could make Sylver quite mad and we know hes got a bad temper…
GRACE

Actress Tamara Wall: Grace has just found out that it was Mercedes who ran her over and put her in a wheelchair, so she wants to get her revenge. Mercedes was with Graces brother, Liam when the accident happened but they framed Harry because it was his car that they were driving.
LIAM
Why does he want to shoot Mercedes?
Actor Jude Monk McGowan: Theyve had a very off and on intense relationship for the last 6 7 months and Mercedes has very definitely decided that its over, shes done this to him before. Hes seemingly at her beck and call and Liam is usually not the kind of guy to let that happen. Shes aborted a baby that could have been Sylvers, it could have been Liams, so there are lots of reasons why, in Liams mind, shooting her would remove him of a problem.
JAMES
Why does he want to shoot Mercedes?
Actor Gregory Finnegan: So, James motive for shooting Mercedes is that he blames her for pretty much everything bad that has happened to him and to his ex-boyfriend, Harry over the past few months. He has discovered about the hit and run that Mercedes framed Harry for and he believes that she has silenced Harry and killed him to make sure that the true story doesnt come out, so James is hell bent on revenge, or is he?

Why does she want to kill Mercedes?
Actress Alex Fletcher: Dianes motive for shooting Mercedes is because Mercedes let her step-son, Harry take the blame for running over Grace, when in fact that wasnt the case at all. Nobody wanted to come to Harrys funeral because of that, because they thought he was such a bad person. Tony went missing because he was trying to find Harry and now obviously hes disappeared, so Diane blames Mercedes for pretty much everything, for the mess that her lifes in at the moment.
JOEL
Why does he want to shoot Mercedes?
Actor Rory Douglas-Speed: Joel has a couple of motives: in the weeks previous he finds Mercedes confession that she ran over Grace and he thinks that Mercedes has also killed Harry. He gets beaten up by Liam and Mercedes then threatens to kill Joel and hurt her own cousin, Goldie who Joels besotted by, if he spills the beans, so thats the first motive.
The second bit is that she embarrasses him in front of the whole village and calls him out on his past mistakes when hes trying to not be that kind of guy anymore. Hes a Fox at the end of the day, hes Warren Foxs son and thinks that this girl deserves what she gets. Shes pressing and ticking all the boxes for someone to want revenge. Bad Joel is making an appearance and we love bad Joel.
