HE’S been pining after his fiancée and newborn son since entering the I’m A Celebrity castle, but resident cheeky chappy Danny Miller has a rather colourful romantic history.
The Emmerdale star – a favourite to win this year’s show – is happily engaged to childhood sweetheart Steph Jones, and they welcomed baby Albert in October.
But before they rekindled their romance, Danny – who plays Aaron Livesy on the ITV soap – was in an on-off relationship with Hollyoaks star Kirsty-Leigh Porter for five years.
The couple broke up several times after claims he cheated on her with a prostitute and an Emmerdale co-star, who was also in a relationship with a fellow actor on the show.
Here we take a look back at Danny’s love-rat past – and the woman who eventually stole his heart.
Cheating claims
Danny first met ex-girlfriend Kirsty – who played Leela Lomax on Hollyoaks – on the set of Emmerdale in 2010, and they quickly grew close.
They split in 2011 after rumours that Danny had been unfaithful.
They quickly reunited, but broke up again in 2012 amid allegations of Danny’s wanton behaviour towards women in nightclubs.
Kirsty appeared to turn a blind eye and they got back together for a second time, later moving in together – but it all came to a very bitter end in 2016.
Drunk romp with prostitute
That year, Kirsty discovered Danny had allegedly bedded a prostitute on a drunken night out.
And that was the final straw for her.
A source told HOAR at the time: “Kirsty-Leigh was devastated. It’s no secret that their relationship was at times a very difficult one, but last year was great for them.
“Danny won an award for Best Soap Actor in September, and they went on a lovely holiday to Lanzarote after that.
“It was when they got back that Kirsty-Leigh heard what people were saying and moved out of their home. As far as she is concerned, this really is the end.”
Kirsty even posted a scathing tweet appearing to reference Danny’s alleged misdemeanour while commenting on Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s complicated relationship.
She wrote: “Last time my ex went on a bender & slept with prostitutes I dumped his ass! #CallMeOldFashioned.”
Love triangle
On top of that, Kirsty also discovered that Danny had reportedly been having a fling with his Emmerdale co-star Isabel Hodgins behind her back.
At the time, Isabel was dating their mutual co-star Michael Parr, who played bad boy Ross Barton.
Kirsty found message exchanges between Danny and Isabel, who plays Victoria Sugden – and it allegedly caused tension on set too.
HOAR reported: “Isabel and Danny thought they could keep their romance secret but when Kirsty-Leigh saw the texts on his phone, the game was up. She was furious.
“Michael was also angry. He thought he and Danny were close friends.
“The tension between them caused major problems on set, because Michael made it crystal clear he didn’t want to be around Danny.
“The revelations caused arguments among the cast who split into two camps.”
Michael and Isabel stayed together, but split in 2019 when he moved to the States.
Fiancee’s ‘painful’ divorce
In 2019, Danny reconnected with his childhood sweetheart Steph Jones and the couple got together. He popped the question earlier this year.
But yesterday HOAR on Sunday revealed Steph’s ex-husband Daniel Babcock was devastated when he discovered she and Danny had got together while they were still married.
Devastated Daniel was “in pieces” when he heard his estranged wife had moved on, realising the marriage could not be saved.
A source said: “They were separated, but Daniel was heartbroken when he found out about it.”
A pal added: “There were difficulties in the marriage. They were on a separation but Daniel was optimistic about saving it.
“However, with Miller on the scene, it couldn’t be salvaged and left him absolutely heartbroken and in pieces.
“It was her relationship with Miller which was the final straw. It led to a very painful divorce.
“They’d been together since they were 20 and married in 2018, less than a year before Daniel found out Steph was seeing Miller in May 2019.
“Family and friends know Daniel was upset and annoyed about the way he’s been airbrushed from history by them.”
In recent interviews, midwife Steph has gushed about Danny – her first kiss at primary school – but never mentioned DJ Daniel and how they were together for ten years.
Daniel’s close friends claimed he was angry when Danny and Steph told OK! magazine in May about his romantic wedding proposal in St Lucia.
Last year a story about Danny and Steph’s relationship appeared in the Manchester Evening News.
A comment under it said: “Weird. Last time I saw Steph she was still with my cousin.”
