I’M A Celebrity star Jessica Plummer has admitted she’s already “in training” for her scant show diet.
The ex EastEnders actress, who will enter the ITV reality series this weekend, told how she’s chowing down “rice and beans” in preparation for the staple foods during the series.
The mum of one is currently self-isolating in Wales ahead of I’m A Celeb‘s first ever UK series, after being forced to switch its regular Australian jungle location due to coronavirus.
She revealed her basic diet on her Instagram Stories – in preparation for weeks spent on a handful of minimalist food rations due to the programme’s critter-filled challenges – as she filmed herself getting a regular coronavirus test.
In the caption, the soap favourite wrote: “Another day another COVID test.
“Been getting tested regularly to make sure we are COVID free.”
She was then forced to swallow before her swab and apologised to the nurse, before confessing in her caption: “Yep I had beans, nervous laugh,” followed by two cheeky monkey Emoji icons.
She then added the words: “Rice and beans diet in training over here.”
Earlier in the week Jessica was joined by daughter Noa, aged four, as she made her big reveal on Instagram.
Alongside an adorable video of the pair self-isolating in their rural cottage in Wales, close to show venue Gwrych Castle, she wrote: “The news is out .
“This is happening! Argh am I mental?! Guess I should make the most of the last few days with a pillow and comfy bed! .”
In the accompanying clip, Noa quizzed her mum as to whether she is a “scaredy cat”, to which she bluntly confessed “yes”
Jessica then told the tot: “You should go in the castle instead – take my place!”
The 28-year-old actress, who was also in a pop band, now hopes to repeat the success last year of fellow Walford star Jacqueline Jossa and scoop the title.
HOAR exclusively told how I’m A Celeb bosses believe Jessica, whose EastEnders character Chantelle was murdered last month, will add some glamour to the show.
A source said: “Soap stars always do well in the show.
“Just look at Jessica’s Enders’ predecessor Jacqueline Jossa last year.
“Bosses are delighted to be able to convince her to take part.
“It’s a great move for both parties as she’s just left the soap and this is a great opportunity for her personality to be shown to millions.”
I’m A Celebrity now has a confirmed start date of THIS SUNDAY (November 15, 2020) at 9pm on ITV.
However, it was revealed in January 2020 that spin-off show Extra Camp will not be returning due to high costs.
The star-studded line-up, including ex Strictly star AJ Pritchard, BBC Radio 1 DJ Jordan North and Corrie favourite Bev Callard have all posed in their winter warmers in exciting preview images for the show.
