ADAM Thomas has revealed he has “shed a few tears” during his eight weeks away from his family, as he presents I’m A Celebrity spin-off show Extra Camp.
The former Emmerdale actor has replaced Joe Swash on the ITV2 hit show but after five weeks in India and then three in Australia, he has taken to social media to admit he has struggled being away from his wife and two children.

Sharing a video he found on his iPad from his young son, Adam wrote: “When you find this on your iPad!! This was over 5 weeks ago… when I left for India … now here in Australia and still 3 more weeks to go…
“The love I have for this boy is like no other… can not wait to hold him in my arms again and of course the rest of my little fam starting with this beautiful girl @carolinethomas23.”
He added: “ps…thank you to everyone for being so supportive on @imacelebrity extra camp not sure how long its gonna last for, but what a ride!!
“Been a struggle not going to lie haha shed a few tears along the way but, I knew it was never going to be easy, and self doubt is constantly in the back of mind but am working on it… and if you have these thoughts try and work on it too.”

He concluded: “Dont let our thoughts stop us from becoming the best version of ourselves…we can and we will… we got this.”
Adam finished third on the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity.
As host of Extra Camp he has been joined by Emily Atack, 29, who finished as runner up to Harry Redknapp on last year’s series.
The pair are joined by Joel Dommett.
HOAR exclusively broke the news of his new role, and a source said: Adam showed how brilliant he was on camera during his time on the show and has plenty of TV experience from his years as an actor.
“He also knows the jungle inside out and is sure to have great banter with Joel and Emily.
“Adam couldnt believe his luck as he found out and cant wait to start.
Adam married his long-term girlfriend, Caroline Daly in August 2017, three years after they welcomed their first child, a son, Teddy.
In December 2017, they announced they were expecting their second child, Elsie-Rose, who was born in May 2018.
Extra Camp airs every night after the main show, which will be hosted by Ant and Dec once again after Holly Willoughby stood in for Ant, 43, last year.
