Inside Coronation Street’s star Nigel Havers’ opulent home in Wiltshire ‘that looks just like Buckingham Palace’

Former Coronation Street star Nigel Havers has shown off the inside of his home, leaving fans comparing it to “Buckingham Palace”.

Nigel, 68, gave viewers a glimpse of his luxurious Wiltshire property during an interview on Good Morning Britain today.

The actor was invited onto the show to discuss the current situation with the theatre industry, which is facing a bleak future due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the interview was being done via video link, Nigel set himself up in his sitting room and the backdrop was quite remarkable.

Fans were left gobsmacked as they spied plush white armchairs, numerous lamps and grand historical paintings adorning the walls.

There also appeared to be a collection of booze and spirits displayed on the side, huge wooden double doors led into another fancy room.

Nigel appeared on GMB to discuss the future of the theatre industry

Taking to Twitter, GMB fans were quick to share their disbelief at Nigel’s magnificent home.

It was so talked about that Nigel found himself trending.

One person tweeted: “@GMB Have to say,Nigel Havers wins the celebrity best house on zoom hands down #livinginbuckinghampalace.”

Another added: “Nigel Havers knocking it out of the park with the battle of who has the best background on video call.”

Nigel lives in a converted barn in Wiltshire

A third said: “Nigel Havers here, self isolating in 1788.”

Nigel’s home is a convert barn and he lives there with his wife Georgiana Bronfman.

In 2016, he appeared in an ITV show called Celebrity Home Secrets and it was revealed he has a collection of stuff fish and parrots behind his doors.

Following his GMB appearance today, some viewers claim they were not surprised in the slightest when they saw Nigel’s sitting room.

One wrote: “Nigel Havers’s house looks exactly how I would expect it to look with old oil paintings on the walls and a drinks bar in the corner. Pure class and elegance #gmb.”

Another mused: “His house is exactly how I would have described Nigel Havershouse before seeing this.”

During his interview, Nigel spoke passionately about his fears to the future of stage productions.

Since the coronavirus pandemic swept the UK, all theatres have been closed and will remain so until social distancing rules are ceased.

Nigel said: “It’s very bad. It’s expensive to be dark – a theatre shut costs a lot of money.

“As you know, we always operate on very slim margins. So, we have to work for 80 per cent – 90 per cent capacity to make money.

“My heart goes out to everybody, including me, because I’m waiting to do a play myself, and we just have to keep our fingers crossed.”
