Is Maya coming back to Emmerdale permanently?
Emmerdale viewers watched Maya appear by the prison gates at the end of a recent episode.
And considering her Christmas twist, it looks like the paedophiles shadow could loom across Emmerdale for a while.
But whether Maya will be making a permanent return is yet to be confirmed by ITV bosses, and fans will have to wait and see.
But that hasnt stopped fans taking to Twitter to guess whether shes coming back for good.
One fan tweeted: “So excited and waiting for Maya to return… but that is assuming she is returning.”

Viewers were left stunned just before the one-hour long episode came to a close, when the paedo was seen clutching a huge baby bump by the prison gates.
It came after Jacob attempted to call her when David told him shed been released from jail.
After receiving the lovesick voicemail from her former student, Maya looked ice cold as she deleted his number at the prison gate.
The camera then panned over her huge pregnancy bump before she slunk into the shadows.
Fans were left wondering whether she was pregnant when she said goodbye to Jacob in an earlier episode before she was jailed.
But whether she’ll reveal it to Jacob and David in a twisted Christmas surprise remains to be seen, and fans will have to tune in to find out.
Why was Maya released from prison early?
Maya was embroiled in Emmerdales controversial child abuse storyline.
She groomed and sexually abused teen Jacob Ghallager for almost a year.
Fans were horrified by the abuse which came to a dramatic head on Jacobs birthday as Maya seduced the teen and wished him a Happy Birthday before mounting him on the bed.
However, it looked like things were over for the paedo as she was whisked away by the police after David discovered her seedy secret and reported her.
The manipulative teacher was sentenced to a year behind bars but to everyones dismay only ended up serving five months.
In court Maya pretended that she hadnt slept with Jacob – instead saying that she and Jacob had only sexted.
Her short sentence left fans fearing shed be released soon – and they were right.
But though she was spotted lurking at the prison gates looking suspicious, Maya is yet to officially return to Emmerdale.
