Katie, 26, told her fans she was “so excited” to be attending Mecca Fest in Blackpool on May 30.

She told how 800 “lucky winners” will be invited to join a host of stars including Jack Fincham, Charlotte Crosby, Kelvin Fletcher, Duncan James, Love Island’s Michael Griffiths and Towie’s Bobby Norris.

Just days ago Katie revealed she’ll be moving to Los Angeles to try and break Hollywood after quitting the soap.

She joined the soap as Sinead Tinker seven years ago and left in October, when her character lost a long battle with cervical cancer.

Speaking about her next steps, the 26-year-old actress said: “I would try my luck in L.A.

“I’ve had some weird and wonderful meetings. All dependent on timing. I am going to LA to chase my dreams. If it doesn’t happen it doesn’t matter.

“It is nerve wracking but it’s exciting. I don’t like not knowing.

Katie revealed that she plans to move to LA where she will try to break into Hollywood

“I would love to play that kind of sassy or evil role, someone like Harley Quinn.”

When asked about her legacy on the ITV soap, which narrowly missed out on the top gong to Emmerdale during the ceremony, Katie said: “With a soap you’re in someone’s living room five or six times a week.

“It’s very familiar for people which means you can portray stories easily because everyone feels they know you. I think we got it across clearly.

“The uptake for cervical screenings has gone up since the storyline came up which is amazing and what we wanted.

She left the hit soap in October last year when her character Sinead Tinker was killed off

“I still get young girls messaging me now telling me they want to get one after they saw the story.”

When asked about picking up her gong, Katie added: “Im genuinely over the moon.

“To have been given nominated. To be the only female. To now hold this in my hand. It’s the icing on the cake of leaving Coronation Street.”

Katie says that Sinead’s storyline, focusing on her battle with cervical cancer, inspired many young fans to get screenings
