KYM Marsh has revealed she won’t have seen her boyfriend Scott in seven months after his tour in the army was delayed due to the coronavirus.
The ex Coronation Street star, 43, appeared on Good Morning Britain today and spoke to Lorraine Kelly about missing her partner, who was supposed to arrive home this month.
Kym has been isolating with her daughter Polly, nine, son David, 25, and his girlfriend.
But the star admitted she had been missing her partner Scott and grandson Teddy, 11 months.
The former Coronation Street star said: “Yeah it’s hard. It was hard anyway but it’s been even more so now because you want to be with your partner at times like these.
“Actually he and also the other boys have been delayed coming back… he won’t be back till next month, he was meant to come back this month. We’ll have done seven months by the time he comes back.
“When Scott gets back it’s another dynamic in the house, we’ll feel a bit safer.”
Of missing her daughter Emilie’s son, Kym added: “It’s such a shame we’re going to miss his first birthday, Emilie moved out in February so it’s really new anyway her not being here, so now not being able to visit or see them is really difficult, but it’s great she’s sending us photos and videos all the time.”
Kym revealed she had chosen to go into lockdown before the government enforced the nation to self isolate after she displayed flu symptoms.
She said: “I started self-isolating before the lockdown started so I’ve been doing this for longer. I developed some symptoms.
“I’m not convinced it was that. It was more than likely a seasonal cold, but it was the right thing the do, anyone who was showing symptoms should be isolating. So I decided to do that I was supposed to be co-presenting The One Show but I had to cancel.”
Kym previously opened up to HOAR about her anxiety when Scott – who is a Major in the Paras – goes on tour.
She told us: “There is always anxiety, it is always stressful when he goes away. There may not be an actual war threat currently but there’s always a risk when you’re in these dangerous places.
“And it can be extra worrying when you aren’t able to communicate for periods of time.
“If he’s on base he can get in touch, but there are times when he is out on exercises and I don’t hear from him for three weeks because there is just no signal.
“In some areas there is just nothing, he went to Kenya and for two months we barely spoke a word.”
The actress continued: “He always says that it’s the families at home who are the brave ones – they just don’t see themselves as brave at all.
“But it won’t be easy watching him go away, and I will worry until I see him again.”
Kym has been married twice – to EastEnders star Jack Ryder from 2002-2009, and to Hollyoaks‘ Jamie Lomas from 2012-2014.
