SOAP star Kym Marsh has spent more than a decade living in Britain’s most famous street – now she’s aiming to buy her own, HOAR Online can exclusively reveal.
The former Rovers Return landlady is swapping the Cobbles for bricks and mortar as she set up her own property company, Marcun Properties Ltd, in Manchester.
Insiders tell HOAR Online that the 44-year-old has enlisted the help of her tiler son David Cunliffe, 25, to help renovate homes which they plan to rent out.
The actress, who played Corrie‘s Michelle Connor for 13 years until 2019, hopes to build a portfolio of small two and three homes in the Greater Manchester area.
A source told HOAR Online: “Kym’s always been very good with money and never blown her cash.
“David is the ideal partner because he can identify bargains and he has the skills to renovate places to either rent out or sell on at a profit depending on what they decide.”
The new project comes as the former Hear’Say singer is set to return to TV screens following her exit from the soap.
Kym will appear in new BBC 1 consumer show Your Money and Your Life with Watchdog and Rogue Traders presenter Matt Allwright.
The show, airing daily at 10am for three weeks, gives guidance and tips on issues affecting everyone following the COVID-19 pandemic such as holidays, health, work and home life.
Viewers watched as Kym, who recently celebrated her 44th birthday with beau Scott Ratcliff, last appeared on Corrie on December 27.
Her character Michelle Connor left the cobbles following the death of her cheating ex-fiancé Robert Preston.
In March, Kym announced she was set to step in for Matt Baker, who is self-isolating at home after coming down with symptoms.
But the star had to pull out too after coming down with symptoms.
“I had to cancel some work,” she told OK! Magazine.
“I was supposed to co-host The One Show, but it would have been very irresponsible of me to travel there even if I had been feeling well enough.”
