LES Dennis made a grim confession about his personal hygiene routine in a shocking episode of Would I Lie To You?

The former Family Fortunes host and Coronation Street star, 67, held a cue card as he told the BBC show panel: “I like to keep my old fingernail clippings so I can use them later on.”

The former Family Fortunes host was sheepish as he made his grim statement on BBC show, Would I Lie To You?

It prompted a grimace from show host Rob Brydon while the other contestants were forced to see if his grim statement was in fact true.

Team captain David Mitchell asked what telly favourite Les used his nails for, as he confidently replied: “Well, if I’ve had a sandwich … and I have forgotten to get hold of a tooth pick,” before trailing off.

David followed up and clarified: “So you keep your old fingernail clippings …” before Les interjected: “If I get a really good one that’s got a nice hook in it, then I will save it for later.”

He later said how ordinary tooth picks “don’t quite get in” to the gaps between his teeth leaving the rest of the panel stunned.

Pointless presenter Richard Osman, who was appearing as a panelist, simply told how he was “appalled” at the confession.

Gavin and Stacey legend Rob then added: “We are all hoping its a lie.”

Yet the awkward truth was soon to be revealed.

Les aptly bit his nails as he said, when asked if it is true: “It is, and I promise not to do it any more now,” before pressing the buzzer that flashed up the word ‘true.’
