STRICTLY’s Maisie Smith revealed a huge bruise on her leg as she posed for snaps with Gorka Marquez.
Maisie, 19, flashed the painful looking bruise on her left left knee while celebrating their high scores on Saturday night in their Strictly costumes.
The EastEnders star sported one large blemish which was surrounded by a splattering of further purple and black marks.
The Strictly fake tan couldn’t disguise the injuries – but Maisie took no notice as she lifted her leg to throw some shapes with Gorka.
The bruises were plain to see after another week of intense rehearsals before she landed in the bottom two on Sunday.
She was in the bottom two again this week – despite coming second on the leaderboard on judges’ scores.
The turnabout in fortunes left many viewers, who have been impressed by her talent, scratching their heads.
One viewer felt she had been harshly treated, tweeting: “The UK hates confident women confirmed.”
Another wrote: ” It just proves my point that UK audiences don’t like confident young women.”
Maisie, who is partnered with Gorka Marquez, was saved by judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke.
Their decision meant that actress Caroline Quentin was sent home alongside her partner Johannes Radebe.
Maisie, who has been training flat-out between filming EastEnders, got glowing reviews from the judges.
The star has spoken about her fear of being thought of as arrogant – saying it’s simply her nerves showing.
She told OK! magazine: “People have said they can’t warm to me on Strictly, but I’m so nervous and that can be interpreted as arrogance.
“I’ll either go quiet, or I’ll go over the top to put on a confident front.
“It’s hard to not let it affect you. I do have to genuinely remind myself to just trust myself. And be me.”
