SOAP fans have been left devastated with the cut back in their favourite shows, and now they have to say goodbye to Hollyoaks for a while.
The series has run out of episodes after having to abandon filming due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When will Hollyoaks be back on TV?
It’s the final episode will air TONIGHT (July 20, 2020) at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
The soap returns in September, with an exact date still to be confirmed.
The schedule was cut from five to two episodes a week at the start of lockdown, to keep the programme on air as long as possible but now has to come to an end for a while.
Hollyoaks plans to return with an increase to four nights a week in the autumn, with an expected return to the full five-nights pattern by January 2021.
What is Hollyoaks being replaced with?
Fans will be treated to classic epsiodes of the show while it is off air.
Following the success of Hollyoaks Favourites, from Monday July 27, 2020 on E4 at 7pm, Hollyoaks@25 will showcase the most talked about storylines – one must-watch week for every five years it has been on air.
The first era will be looking at the years 1995-2000, the next will be looking at 2001- 2005, and onwards.
The show kicks off with the soaps first ever huge stunt, and its first ever villain, Rob Hawthorne, as it journeys back to 1999.
A young Tony, Lewis, Ruth and Lucy are in serious danger as they are being
held captive in a huge water tank.
What will happen when Hollyoaks returns?
Scott Drinkwell and Mitchell Deveraux’s wedding is around the corner, so expect high emotion as family tensions erupt and could threaten the big day.
Lisa Loveday’s exit also hits screens in September, following Rachel Adedeji’s announcement she had quit.
With the character just having started a new romance with bad boy Felix Dexter, fans will be keen to see how she leaves.
Brody Hudson’s abuse story is set to be revisited as he plans to confront evil Buster Smith in prison, but he has no idea girlfriend Sienna Blake recently shared a kiss with old flame Warren Fox.Â
How will social distancing take place on Hollyoaks?
The cast returned to film again on July 13, 2020, four months after the UK lockdown halted production.
Hollyoaks were the last of the main four soaps to stop filming, but were then the last to return.
As with all TV drama going back to work in the post-pandemic age, strict new social distancing and safety measures are in place at the Hollyoaks set in Liverpool, which has been declared Covid-safe within government guidelines to ensure welfare of cast and crew.
